Four is a Party.

I have been tagged by The Freelancer's Fashion Blog (which has lovely fashion illustrations) for four questions about the blog, and here they are.

What's the story behind the name of your blog and your nickname?

The name Cheapskate Chic comes from the fact that I am, indeed, a total cheapskate when it comes to fashion. I get most of my clothes from charity shops and sales and I like to have a good rifle and bargain bins whenever I can.

I chose the moniker Miss Woo because it is the most common misspelling of my Chinese surname. Plus it makes me sound like a Bond Girl, ha.

(this is my general expression whenever I'm contemplating on whether to shop for discount shoes on ASOS, except my hair is about 6000 times more messy, obviously.)

Why did you start blogging in the first place?

I stumble across Kingdom of Style by accident in the summer and this in turn led me to the wonderful world of fashion blogging. I have always been interested with fashion and writing but was never confident enough to think I'll be able to achieve any thing. Seeing all the wonderful blogs out there however has really opened my eyes and made me think that perhaps I can do something too. So here I am.

What has been your best blogging related experience? What about the worst?

I don't even know where to start with the positive experiences, but I guess (if I have to choose) the best thing about blogging for me is meeting people from different cultures. It's always a pleasure to discover a wonderful blog from another part of the world that I may not know much about. I don’t think I would have learned so much about fashion without blogging.

Another great thing is of course feedback! It never fails to surprise me that people read this, and let alone comment, which are always much appreciated.

The worst thing is probably I could never have as much time as I want to do the blog. I’m already pretty bad when it comes to browsing on the Internet, though now I can justify looking at giant bows for 2 hours all the name of research.

What do you think will happen to your blog in 2008?

Hopefully my writing style (especially my appalling grammar) and computer skills will improve. I also want to talk about more things other than fashion, like books and music.

As always with tagging posts I'm unsure who has already been /prefer not to be tagged so I'll leave this one open. I'm very interested in the stories behind everyone's blog, so if you're up for it considered yourself tagged and share :)

Haha, I need to have a silly name as well to go with my Bond Girl moniker. Mimi Woo maybe, or Chesty..

And Elizabeth, I love to trade links but I'm away at my boyfs at the moment, I'll do it soon as I get back.

Haha, the first question is very interesting. I've never bought a thing in a charity shop. When I was in London I hadn't seen anything interesting and where I live in Spain there are not these shops!

Are you a BBC ? You seem too stylish to be American.

q: I'm born in Taiwan and am a Chinese girl through and through, I just live in England for a while!

Gemma: Aww no, I'll give you an email sooon. Looking forward to the 5th too!

Jen: I agree, I'm veering towards buying slightly more expensive clothes more and more as its nice to have something durable. I never regret buying from charity shops though, at least I think the money is going for a good cause.
