Im pretty much a hoarder when it comes to clothes, which means that I sometimes discover strange items in my wardrobe that make me feel ‘WHAT WAS I ON?’ My latest find is a 80s one-piece sailor suit that I had since I was 19. Bought at the height of my nautical obsession (surely everyone must go that phase?) I wore this outfit few times before I decide it was too ‘
wacky’. Trying it on again, it actually looks okay on its own, though a bit too novelty for a Friday night out. Teamed with a grey cardigan and my battered brown ankle boots however, and the outfit immediately feel more me.

One Piece: Ebay
Cardigan: Brick Lane Market
Tights: TK Maxx
Headband: H&M
Belt: Charity Shop
Shoes: Charity Shop
Sock: Socks Dreams

My red socks matches my belt, I have a matching problem worse that Victoria Beckham.
It also got me thinking how much my style changed over the years. I guess that is why I find it difficult to chuck clothes away, as everything invoke a memory for me (however trivial it might be.) Besides, who know when a one piece sailor suit may come in handy...

I have to say, this is not at all wacky or matchy matchy.
Usually I find the nautical look incredibly cliched, but I have come to realised that this is only due the annual sailor spread that the blahh fashion magazines will insist on publishing every spring.
Besides, the pieces they use are never nice, almost as if thewy pick up anything as long as it consists of red, white or blue.
But this is very Zooey Deschanel, non?
That's dress is wonderful and the mixing makes it even better. I didn't have a sailor phase but I did attend a school with a sailor uniform for a short time!
I love it! It's almost professional, like something to give you a little extra at work. I think I may be entering a nautical phase.
SO CUTE!!! i love your socks :)
Cool piece is yes, very Sailor..
I actually like it very much. I wouldn't have known it was one piece if you didn't say so.
I absolutely adore that you paired the sailor dress with the neurtal beige cardigan, great combo! And the socks are too cute!
This dress is utterly perfect, not cliched at all! Love your blog by the way.
when I was in Kindergarten, my mom for some reason had like three identical sailor suits she loved putting me in (they were different colors). How funny and horrible I think...
