However, trying them on with my outfit today, I was reminded how difficult it is for me to pull of big sunglasses. My style has always been a bit on the scruffy, grungy side, but with the shades as well I fee like a bad Mary Kate wannabe, circa year 2006 (it could almost count as retro...)

Maybe the glasses could be improved with a well-cut blazer and some skinny trousers to take it out of the dreaded boho territory. On the other hand, I could just wait until I'm in Taiwan and wear them in my hometown with not a care in the world… One week to go!

I agree that some peoploe have to be careful not looking like a mk knock-off, I think eg I might have difficulties with the blonde hair and stuff but you really manage to make the look your own. seriously gorgeous.

I love the layering with the dress and the skirt. I bought the same skirt but ended up exchanging it for one in a similar style and different colour. I still wish I had the plaid one as well!

I don't think it looks MK wannabe. I have issues with buying sunglasses for myself because I think I might look stuck up or just like a poser, but I think yours look great.

I like those bug-eyes! I actually have a pair from the early nineties that I started wearing again last summer, my first sunglasses buy.. I don't associate this style with MK?? But if this tyle becomes overly trendy... eh. I really like how my thrift-shop found wayfarers look on me but if a certain style reaches the critical mass of popularity I start to feel uncomfortable with it. Is that snobbery?
