Taipei

Since my hometown is relatively small, I’ve always felt like a country bumpkin whenever I visit Taipei. While I’m not exactly unfamiliar with the hustle and bustle of city life, I’m still impressed by silly little things like air conditioning in the metro (how civilized!), the fact that elevator ladies can speak four languages, and how nice and polite people generally are. My weekend there is generally spent sight seeing, visiting bookshops of course, eating.

There are also some nice clothes shops, but considering the temperature remains 30 degrees everyday I didn’t spend much time browsing. The only thing I bought is an umbrella; I know I’m Taiwanese when I use an umbrella under the sun, even if I do feel just a tiny bit embarrassed.

My travel outfit and uniform: the not - so - exciting combination of AA T with denim cutoffs. Mrs. Featherbottom would approve.

And a sample of yum yums I ate. The sweet beans soup is esp delicious.

If it was so hot here, you'd see me in the same outfit (which is cute, nonetheless!) Love the photos.

Yummmm, is that soft shell crab? So one of my favourites! It's the same in HK too, lots of umbrellas used for shade!

yumm :)
I feel so culturally stunted, the furthest I've been is America when I was 8. I've been to usual holiday countries like Spain and France but never anywhere like Taiwan. But I'm going to Japan next month which should be amazing!

hello! I'm gina, I have a lot of family that lives in Taipei, Taiwan..I absolutely love it there! I'm born in the States, so I can only visit every so often. Seeing those pictures just reminded me so much of the abundance of food at the night markets! I'm sure your familiar with that. =] Anyway, where about do you go to school in London? I was actually thinking about heading out to school there but decided to postpone it for about a year. =P Anyway, hope to hear from you soon!
