As much as I hope to be on a higher ascetic plain, unmoved by such frivolities like trends or parties or whatever, I must confess that I like to browse the occasional ‘it girl’ for inspiration (well, kind of obvious really…) Because face it, I’m never going to afford a shoulder padded Balmain monstrosity in my life. Dressing like a cat on the other hand, is something I like to attempt sometime, even just at home drinking tea.

Hence tonight I’m flopping about like a dying fish on the sofa, watching season 7 of 24 which is a horrible show but god WHY CAN'T I STOP.

And not wanting to go into the cheesy “I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!” territory (you know what, fuck it, I am), the response to the book post has simply been fantastic. There are so many interesting authors I don’t know about, especially in contemporary fiction. I’m also stupidly excited about all the Neil Gaiman suggestions, as the only thing I read so far is his stint on Constantine, which kick ass, so hard.

Whoever says fashion bloggers are air heads is so obviously a twat.

In the danger of coming across as painfully pretentious, I really like talking about books, as it is something I'm doing for my degree and beyond.

Recently however, I’ve pretty much fallen off the literary wagon. Having to do research 24/7 means that any leisure reading I've dnone magazines and manga about hilarious mafia babies (brother: you do know that’s embarrassing at your age right? Me: fuck off)

Hence, since summer is reading season, I would like to kick start my habit again and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations? I’m open about most things (literature, graphic novels, even children’s/teen fiction etc…), and am also very curious to know what you, are reading!

I'm currently in the slow and painstaking process of clearing out my wardrobe, in which I throw away two things, then recovers them because I couldn't bear being part with that cheapie lurex top that I spilt wine on (good times? In hindsight, not really)

Seeing these ladies execute minimalism (and the last girl maximalism, but she looks awesome so that’s okay) to perfection does however motivate me to abandon some sentimental but face it we're over items. Well, almost.

For someone who can spend hours obsessing over the perfect ‘cut’ for a T shirt, I’m actually appallingly sloppy when it comes to the act of dressing itself. Adjust the collar of my jacket? Meh. Misbuttoned my shirt? Hey, just being avant garde! Might as work with the low maintenance trend when I spend half of my life oblivious to the fact that I'm wearing a shirt my cat just slept on.

However, there are occasions where I'm required to wear clothes that are ironed, and going to a fancy schamcy restaurant today (very, very rare occurrence) I attempt to ‘scrub up nicely.’ My hair on the other hand, remains a lost cause as usual.

It does feel surprisingly nice to, well, try and look nice for a change. Even if I did end up realising that I forgot to remove the white plastic line that comes with the price tag, but only the internet knows, so that's okay.

To say I didn't watch the film Daisies purely for aesthetic alone would be a big fucking lie (it’s like Lula magazine, but in motion! shallow, moi?) However, I’m glad I did as it really is one of the most bonkers, subversive film I have seen for a long time. It really is just incredibly…punk, and such a feast to the eyes that I feel like blasting Thee Headcoatees as soon as its finished.

So yup, another film filed under the Watch 16 Times or More section. It’s actually quite worrying that I'm not exaggerating...

With all this financial damage, I’m selling a few things on Ebay just to maintain some peace of mind, and change in the wallet. My auctions tend to go for really low prices as I don’t really go for the whole styling shebang, so please check them out if you want some cheapskate chic (god I'm lame) And if any readers won anything I’ll also throw in something a little extra (i.e mix CD, funny kitten pictures and my eternal gratitude)
