Being somehow lacking in funds and blogging spirit these days, I tend to shy away from fashion 'events' to stay at home and watch paint dry. However, when the lovely Charlie invited me to the Urban Outfitters London Branch I jumped at the chance.

Despite end up having The Worst Day (left my phone on the train, what a div) Charlie very kindly showed me round the store and let me pick three things to keep. I chose the velvet backpack, Silence and Noise leather skirt and a super cosy fox jumper. I also get to caress the Pendleton jackets and Vanessa Bruno Athe dresses lovingly, and no SA called me a creep (even if they're thinking it).

Taking pictures of my friends ~~doing synchronised poos~~ dancing since 2011.

My proudest moment this year was harvesting two pumpkins that will soon to be made into a Japanese curry. Also enjoying massive non stop eating sessions (like the LFW Rib fest with Mel and Elisabeth) and buying up the entire stock of Aran jumpers at my local chazza. You snooze, you lose!

Occasionally I go through my old drafts to 'de-clog' posts and find gems/shit that even I can't remember writing down. Recently I jotted down "clean hipster style...90s except NOT!!!!" and for 5 seconds that seem like a totally innovative idea, before I realize I must be slightly retarded.

Still, the sentiment is to develop a style that looks nonchalant (or have, forgive me, "attitude") without subscribing wholly to a particular subculture/decade. Stevie had already done an excellent review for the issue, but here's a little extract written by the wise lady herself.

There is something very liberating about dressing casually, maybe because what you wear should be an extension of your interest, attitudes and quirks rather than being a dictator of these things.

When you're wearing something casual it just feel like one less thing to think about, but that doesn't mean that you won't think to yourself "Yes, I like these trousers" at some point during the day and neither does it mean that you haven't enjoyed deciding what to wear.

'Going out' these days mainly consists of me migrating from my house to somebody else's house. The fear of Club, or more precisely, Spending Money, means that my friends has to suffer the displeasure of me singing Rebecca Black in their living room instead. The lazy approach is extended to clothing: a trusty vintage silk shirt, black jodhpurs or tights and an old man's jacket, not exactly glamorous or boy friendly, but than again I am too old for that shit (the wise ones may ask 'what shit?' in which the reply is inevitably 'Um, I don't actually know').

ps: I am currently looking for a new black liquid eyeliner to perfect the 'flick' and am desperate for recommendations. I am thinking of investing in MAC Liquidlast but are there any better (not to mention cheaper) alternatives? Thanks for helping a make-up simpleton out!

Today is the first day I enjoy April.

Having spent the last few days being pissy and self pitying for no reason, I decide to stop being an asshole and do things instead. It feels good going back to familiar routines, like running, studying and looking up Call of Cthulhu footages on youtube (I am not joking). I also bought some Birkenstocks, ready to rock that Jesus steez in the Summer (I am joking).

PS: The Faraway campaign is now over! I didn't win but a MASSIVE thank you everyone who has voted for me. Its been an amazing experience, and I now have many photos of me looking ~~constipated~~ cool in the countryside to show my grandchildren.

The second is a bright red Iceberg jumper from Oxfam, with the most righteous leather elbow patches. In case it wasn't totally obvious, I like leather.

This is what I wore to see Norwegian Wood last night. I have never read the book before but found the film very intense, for a visually pretty film the feeling of lust and grief is suffocating. This quote from Wantanbe particularly stuck in my mind.

"What I learned from Naoko's death was this: no truth can cure the sorrow we feel from losing a loved one. No truth, no sincerity, no strength, no kindness can cure that sorrow. All we can do is see it through to the end and learn something from it, but what we learn will be no help in facing the next sorrow that comes to us without warning."

A few weeks ago I was selected by Longchamp to be partcipate in their Far Away Spring Campaign, and I can finally unveil the project! After twittering with Silence Sweetheart about PJ Harvey yesterday I purchased Let England Shake on a whim, and in the last 24 hours I played this album 15 times. This is one of the most moving record I've heard in my life (up there with Rid of Me). Some days I feel very cynical, I forgot what it's like to just feel.
